Privacy

Your images stay on your computer.

PicSquish processes everything locally. No cloud uploads, no accounts, no telemetry. Your files never leave your machine.

The short version

No camera access. No microphone access. No contacts. No location. No image uploads. No tracking. Your images are yours.

How PicSquish handles your data

Local processing only

Every conversion, resize, crop, colour adjustment, and quality analysis happens locally on your computer. No image data is ever sent anywhere.

No accounts

PicSquish doesn’t require an email address, username, or account of any kind. There’s nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into.

No telemetry

PicSquish collects no usage analytics, no crash reports, and no behavioural data. We don’t know what images you convert, how often you use the app, or what formats you prefer.

No network access required

PicSquish doesn’t need an internet connection for image processing. Purchase checkout is handled separately and securely by Paddle.

Scoped file access

PicSquish works with files and folders you explicitly select via open dialogs or drag-and-drop. The app tracks trusted source, output, and generated paths for its own IPC workflows.

Metadata control

When you strip metadata, it’s gone. PicSquish gives you explicit control over EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS, and ICC profile data. Strip everything for maximum privacy, keep everything for archival, or strip just GPS location data — your choice.

Local access

PicSquish works with the local files and folders you choose for the current workflow.

Access Purpose
Selected source files Read images and videos you import through open dialogs or drag-and-drop
Selected output folders Write converted images, responsive sets, and developer pack assets
Generated output files Reveal, preview, or reference files the app just created
Local preferences Remember settings such as output format, quality, language, and UI preferences

For enterprise and sensitive workflows

If you work with confidential images — medical, legal, financial, pre-release product photography, or classified materials — PicSquish is designed with you in mind. Everything stays on your hardware. There is no cloud component to audit, no third-party data processor to vet, no server to trust.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 March 2026

Data collection

PicSquish does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. No account registration is required. No analytics, crash reports, telemetry, or usage data of any kind is gathered. Your images and files are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to any server.

Third-party sharing

PicSquish does not share any data with third parties. There are no advertising SDKs, analytics services, or third-party tracking tools embedded in the app. The included image codec components process images locally on your device.

Data retention

PicSquish stores preferences such as output format, quality settings, and chosen output folder locally on your computer. These are never transmitted externally. Imported images exist only in your current session and are not persisted by the app. You can reset stored preferences by deleting the app data for PicSquish.

Children’s privacy

PicSquish does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data is collected, no special provisions under COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) are triggered.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Because PicSquish collects no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about your rights, please contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this section and publish the revised policy on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
